On 03-04 December the OSCE Presence in Albania, in cooperation with the Probation Service Directorate General, organized the training “On risk assessment of offenders” with the participation of 25 Probation Service employees.
The objective of that training was the presentation and personnel training for the use of Risk Assessment System, an instrument implemented for the work of Probation Service with the offenders since 2011. As a structured and regular method to enable the provision of potential criminal conduct and identification of the fields of treatment of offenders, this instrument represents an added value in the mission of work of the Probation Service for the delivery of a service to be first and foremost qualitative.
In the welcoming speech of that training, the Head of Legal Department and Human Rights at OSCE Presence in Albania, Fiorentina Azizi and Ilir Qafa, the Director General of the Probation Service, jointly evaluated the importance of the implementation of effective practices and collectively encouraged the participants for the further development of practices and instruments focused on the risk assessment for the offenders.
OSCE has supported the Probation Service Institution during the years of its establishment and development and continues to support the initiatives for the further consolidation of that institution as a key stakeholder in the criminal justice system in Albania.
